CLASS OUTLINE - BYZANTINE FLOWER GARDEN
This class outline may be used by teachers who wish to teach a project using The Creative Pattern Book by Judy Martin. Individuals seeking guidance for self instruction are also welcome to use this outline. I recommend beginning each class with a preview to ensure that students will come to the first work session properly prepared. Feel free to tailor this outline to your own teaching style. I divide each project into sessions. Sessions can be planned for consecutive weeks or all sessions can be presented in a single all-day workshop. The outline indicates where you can find additional lessons and details in the book or on this web site. Class Description: Byzantine Flower Garden is a new pattern from Judy Martin’s Creative Pattern Book. It was inspired by the traditional Grandmother’s Flower Garden. Judy’s new, easier version eliminates the set-in joints and the need for hand stitching to paper foundations. For a special touch, Judy added a star to each ring. Learn to fancy cut, centering printed motifs in rotary cut patches, or simply rotary cut as usual. The quilt is presented in queen or wall/crib sizes.
