Judy's First Quilt!

While cleaning out the basement, I came across some old doll toys and this old quilt. I made it when I was 9 years old. To give you some perspective, it measures about 12" x 9". The squares aren't necessarily square or the same size. The points don't always line up. It doesn't lay perfectly flat. It's fairly obvious the maker of this quilt has no future in quiltmaking!

There are two lessons here. The first is that everyone has to start somewhere. If you keep at it, you'll get better and better. The second lesson is that fabrics sure were ugly in the 1950's. We are in a golden age of fabric today. Every day I work with today's fabric I appreciate how many wonderful choices I have.
